Intermediate / Senior Oracle DBA: Full-Time - Victoria

For 25 years, MYRA Systems has provided information technology (IT) solutions and technology infrastructure services focused on support, design, planning and implementation to our customers. We specialize in supporting businesses that use UNIX, Windows, networks and related technologies.

We are currently seeking an Oracle DBA for our Victoria location. MYRA is interested in qualified candidates who welcome challenges in a professional andconfident manner and enjoy working in fast paced team environments.

Mandatory requirements for this position are:

• University degree in computer science
• Minimum of three years of experience working with Oracle Database Administration on UNIX platforms
• Technical Certification and experience in enterprise environments with Oracle 10g and PL/SQL
• Excellent interpersonal, English verbal and written communication skills
• Experience in working successfully in teams
• Available for occasional evening and weekend work as required to support the client environments
• Ability to travel within BC for some assignments as required

Desirable requirements for this position are:

• Experience in:
• Technical Certification and experience in enterprise Oracle 11i
• SQL Server administration
• Formulating policies and procedures for DBA activities
• Sun Solaris Operating System (on UNIX), including system administration
• Developing database code (packages, procedures, functions, triggers, etc.) or support applications
• Providing support to customers/developers to resolve their technical problems with the data and/or database
• Demonstrated interest in improving data management processes
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Exposure to adjacent technologies such as networking skills
