Intermediate Project Manager - Victoria (Full-Time)

For over 20 years, MYRA Systems has provided information technology (IT) solutions and technology infrastructure services focused on support, design, planning and implementation to our customers.

MYRA also provides deliverable-based services, including project management, business analysis and technical expertise. We specialize in supporting businesses that use UNIX, Windows, networks and related technologies.

MYRA provides services ranging from project-based technical and professional services to fully-managed infrastructure operations. We manage and operate the technology infrastructure for corporate and business applications that support real estate and property management, property assessment, financial services, transportation, telecommunications and others.

This Intermediate Project Manager position is primarily responsible for providing project management and team lead services for projects and operations-based coordination for a variety of our clients' IT environments.

Mandatory requirements for this position are:

  • Minimum 4 years project management or team lead experience in IT environments
  • Experience managing meetings, preparing meeting minutes and reports
  • Experience with executing on detailed project plans, including meeting established target dates, preparation of status reports, and daily leadership of project teams
  • Experience managing customer relationships and acting as liaison with project stakeholders
  • Excellent organizational skills, verbal and written English skills
  • Expertise using office productivity tools, such as MS Word, Project and Excel

Desirable requirements for this position are:

  • A university degree and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification would be an asset
  • Experience with project planning: scope definition, resource and task management, communications and implementation; and with project management of risk, budget, issue, and change
  • Experience facilitating multi-disciplinary teams
  • Experience writing statements of work and proposals, project charters, and decision-support documentation (such as briefing notes and options analysis)

Intermediate/Senior Oracle DBA - Vancouver or Victoria (Full-Time)

This is a great opportunity to join MYRA Systems Corp. in Vancouver or Victoria to provide leading IT services to our clients. We are seeking Oracle DBAs who have a minimum of three years of experience working with Oracle Database Administration on UNIX platforms.

Day to day duties include:

  • Installation, conversion, upgrades, daily support (administration and monitoring of production and development databases), performance tuning, backup monitoring (archive, replication, standby), on-call work, and other related duties.
  • Assisting in the development of processes, procedures, and jobs to monitor and/or automate tasks required to maintain databases. Duties include gathering and communicating database performance metrics.

Mandatory requirements for this position are:

  • A University degree in computer science
  • Technical Certification and experience with Oracle 8i, 9i and 10g in enterprise environments
  • 3+ years of Oracle DBA and PL/SQL experience
  • Good communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills and strong fluency in English

Desirable requirements for this position are:

  • Capable of formulating policies and procedures for DBA activities

Intermediate/Senior Windows Technical Analyst - Victoria (Full-Time)

We are currently seeking an Intermediate/Senior Windows Technical Analyst in our Victoria office.  MYRA is interested in qualified candidates who welcome technical challenges in a professional and confident manner and enjoy working in a fast paced team environment. Preference will be given to applicants with public and private sector experience.

Core responsibilities for this position include:

  • Designing, migrating, upgrading and implementing MS Windows environments including MS Exchange, SharePoint, Active Directory and Microsoft Networking
  • Supporting and troubleshooting Windows Active Directory as well as Windows Servers/clients (2003/2000/NT/XP/Vista) and terminal services (WTS/Citrix)
  • Working closely with technical teams and project managers, external vendor partners, and customers to ensure smooth implementations and transitions
  • Providing sales support for products and services such as product demonstrations

Mandatory skills/certifications required:

  • 3+ years of experience supporting and administering production Windows 2003TM /2000TM based operating environments for large, enterprise server and storage customer environments
  • MCSETM (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) or 10+ years experience working with Windows servers supporting sites with over 40 servers
  • 3+ years experience in Citrix and/or VMware
  • 3+ years experience in Windows scripting
  • A team player who is able to work effectively with project managers and technicians, and be self-directed for a wide variety of assignments and projects

Windows Technical Analyst - Victoria (Full-Time)

We are currently seeking a Windows Technical Analyst in our Victoria office.  MYRA is interested in qualified candidates who welcome technical challenges in a professional and confident manner and enjoy working in a team environment.  This position is primarily responsible for providing support in a variety of operations-based activities within the various IT infrastructure environments that MYRA supports.

Mandatory qualifications for Windows Technical Analysts include:

  • Experience supporting WindowsTM 2000 and 2003 servers in medium to enterprise level environments (1-3 years minimum)
  • MCSETM (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer)
  • An individual who is highly motivated to learn new technologies and deliver excellence in customer service
  • Experience with network concepts
  • Excellent interpersonal and English communication skills to provide verbal and written technical guidance/support to clients
