MYRA Making Virtual Desktops Work for You

On November 9th 2011 MYRA systems hosted a luncheon at Al Porto’s restaurant with HP and Citrix regarding the flexibility of Virtual Desktops. Graham Bell from HP began the presentation with an overview of HP’s latest thin-client hardware. He spoke about HP’s end-to-end approach to virtualization and some of their innovative thin client platforms. Wayne Feyer from Citrix followed his discussion discussing how Citrix XenDesktop can the deliver virtual desktops and applications to every user in the entire organization: increasing workforce productivity with anytime, anywhere access to desktops and applications; enabling quick infrastructure deployment in response to global expansion and workforce changes; streamlining desktop management while improving security; and reducing IT costs with centralized desktop delivery.

MYRA’s focus of the presentation was on the history and benefits of virtual desktops and some of the things an organization needs to consider and prepare for as part of a virtual desktop migration. MYRA has extensive experience in working with our clients on the preparation activities – assessing their environment, developing a plan and proof of concept strategy.
