Steve Harris

Steve has spent his working life in the IT field, both in the UK and Canada. Steve got involved in IT at high school, and since then has spent over 25 years working in the field for both public and private sector organisations, both large and small. Throughout his working life in IT, Steve has striven to bridge the gap between business and IT, understanding both the challenging environment businesses find themselves in and how technology can help and should be managed.

His academic background includes a BSc (Hons) in Computing, winning the Addison-Wesley Prize for outstanding achievement in the field of computing, and an MBA with a specialization in digital technology management, receiving the Chancellors award. Steve’s research in his MBA led to a collaboration and articles published in the Financial Management Institute of Canada’s fmi*igf Journal for public sector financial management, and soon to be in Summit Magazine, Canada’s magazine for public sector purchasing. In addition to a number of technical certifications Steve is also ITIL and COBiT Foundation Certified.

In his time away from work Steve spends his time with his family and cycling, including mountain biking where he excels at falling off.
