Data Centre Consolidation and Virtualization: MYRA and the Accommodation and Real Estate Service (ARES) division of Shared Services BC completed a joint initiative that reduced the number of physical servers from 44 to 24, while increasing the number of virtual servers to 105. Key elements of the solution included VMWare with Windows 2003, SUN Solaris 10 containers, virtual servers and global software platforms.
