Technical Analyst

Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 a year

We are building our hard-working team with the addition of a Technical Analyst in our Victoria office, Vancouver, or remote within British Columbia.


Role Overview:

As a Technical Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in the design, implementation, administration, and escalation support for our customer’s infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be multi-disciplined and will have a proven track record in network administration, virtualization technologies, Microsoft administration, cloud administration, storage devices and backup infrastructure.


Preference will be given to applicants with current exam certifications in Microsoft AZ-104 Azure Administration and/or Microsoft AZ-700 Designing and Implementing Azure Networking, AZ-800/AZ-801 (both) Administering (and Configuring) Windows Server Hybrid Core are preferred. Applicants moving through the interview process could be required to produce validation of active certification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer cloud platforms, with a focus on Microsoft Azure.

  • Administer and optimize network infrastructure, primarily in Fortinet and Cisco technologies.

  • Configuration and administration of email security solutions, such as FortiMail 

  • Design, implement, and maintain Microsoft-based systems and services.

  • Administer and optimize virtualization technologies such as Citrix, VMware and Hyper-V

  • Design, implement and maintain backup infrastructure such as, VEEAM Backups

  • Implementation and configuration of cybersecurity tools, such as, EDR, 2FA (Azure, DUO)

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess technical requirements and provide innovative solutions.

  • Work as a member of our operations team to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues efficiently.

  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend improvements and advancements.

  • Assist in maintaining Service Level Agreement (SLA) compliance by addressing issues within established timelines.

  • Provide technical role leadership and mentorship to junior team members.

  • Provide subject matter expertise and technical leadership input to policies procedures and processes.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5-year previous experience in a Managed Services environment

  • Minimum technical experience in networking (Fortinet produces preferred) and Windows server support with additional experience in 2 other areas of discipline as noted in Key Responsibilities section.

  • Familiarity with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and adherence to ticketing systems.

  • Proven strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-centric approach.

  • A proactive and self-motivated attitude towards learning new technologies and processes.

  • Understanding of ITIL framework

  • Provide on-call support (team rotation)

  • Must be able to produce vendor specific exam certifications (e.g. Microsoft, Fortinet, Cisco)

 

Nice to Have:

  • Additional certifications in relevant technologies (Azure Cloud)

  • Additional knowledge and experience related to cybersecurity.

  • Experience with additional operating systems beyond Microsoft Windows.
